Wow, I lot has been achieved in the last 4 weeks.
- The work completed includes
- All the sheds have been removed
- 98% of the hay/straw has been removed from the large barn (36cbm container)
- Third of the large barn has been demolished.
- Two container (20cbm) loads of bad wood was taken away.
- A third container (20cbm) was filled full of old metal.
- The drain pipes are now connected to the Stadt sewerage system so the area around the back of the house should start to dry out.
We made some of the locals very happy as they got to take the best bits of wood for burning in their kamin ofens.
While removing the old sheds another smaller cesspit was discovered, this one was full of water with the bottom 0.5m filled with manure (we reckon it was used to wash out the animal dung from the barn).
The floors in both cesspits has been broken up so water can drain away, the smaller animal cesspit has now been mostly filled with rubble that was piled outside the backdoor.
