Over the last 3 years we have stayed in the house while rebuilding it, this was fine while we did minor work (replacing windows, installing new sewage pipework).
But now we are ready to start removing the ceilings and floors so we can move to phase 2 of rebuilding the house.
So we looked at the option of buying a wooden hut to install in the garden, we had a 6x4m base from the old barn we could use.
A basic wooden hut would have cost about over 15K euros, it would have needed insulating and time to build it.
Around the same time Debbie found a house for sale 5 minutes down the road, we had a look at it and made an offer. It was accepted, with taxes and Immobilien fees we paid 10K euros for a house that had an oil-fired heating system.
This second house also needs extensive renovation and can be converted into 2 appartments but in its current state we can live in it while we are there.
We spent the winter months painting, installing a new kitchen and some insulation work.
Now we have a clean, warm house to go back to after a hard days work at the main house.
